2022 Jean Fournier Bourgogne Cote D'Or
2022 Jean Fournier Bourgogne Cote D'Or
Size: 750ml
Grape: Pinot Noir
Region: Burgundy, France (In Marsannay, most northern area of Côte de Nuits)
Producer: Domaine Jean Fournier dates back to the reign of Louis 13th in the early 17th century, making it one of the oldest properties in Marsannay. Today the Domaine’s 16 hectares are managed by the dynamic young Laurent Fournier, son of Jean, who crafts wines with integrity in a non-interventionist style.
In the cellar: After being harvested by hand these grapes are destemmed and undergo fermentation for 22 days. One third of these grapes age in concrete tanks and the remainder age in 500L-600L barrels.
Farming method: Organic; Laurent has converted the vineyards to organic agriculture and has been Ecocert certified since 2008. Old vines can be found throughout his vineyards, contributing to the immense purity and finesse Fournier’s wines are known for.
Tasting notes: A silky body with vibrant notes of blackberries, cranberries, and finishing with a mossy forest floor.
