Producer: Jean Boxler, the current producer, represents a lineage of winemakers dating back to 1673, when his family moved from Switzerland to Alsace. This legacy was passed from Albert Boxler to his son Jean-Marc and eventually to Jean in 1996.

In the cellar: Aged in foudre post fermentation with indigenous yeasts
Farming method: The Boxler family runs an organic farm near the historic village of Niedermorschwihr in Haut-Rhin, focusing on the renowned grand cru, Sommerberg, with its granite hillsides. Jean expertly vinifies specific sections within this grand cru, sometimes classifying some for his reserve wines and producing various Sommerberg bottlings depending on the vintage.
Tasting notes: This iconic label, created by Albert’s cousin in 1946, represents the enduring tradition of the Boxler family. This Riesling Sommerberg Grand Cru is a racy full-bodied wine with notes of petrol, luscious pear and tropical fruit.
