Bow & Arrow, Portland Oregon

Witnessing 9/11 from a neighboring skyscraper in New York caused Scott Frank, the owner of Bow & Arrow, to deeply reflect upon his life and was ultimately the motivation for him to move to Portland, Oregon. After bluffing his way into his first wine job, Scott’s ‘wine bug' turned into an obsession; he has held wines jobs in retail, distribution, farming the fields, and is now the owner of Bow & Arrow! Scott is married to natural wine expert/rock star sommelier Dana Scott, a force of nature in the Portland natural wine scene. Dana opened her natural wine bar, Dame, in Portland and now works with the Holdfast restaurant group. Experience Frank and Dana's wines this weekend – try a racy Sauvignon Blanc, a gorgeous Pinot Noir, a sprightly Gamay, or twirl ‘Rhinestones’ in your glass and admire it as you would a crown of jewels!

2014 Bow & Arrow Pinot Noir, Hughes Hollow Vineyard - The Hughes Hollow vineyard was left unappreciated even to the point where it was nameless until Bow & Arrow purchased it, and now they consider it to be their secret weapon! It produces stellar Pinot Noir that was grown on 27-year-old vines in Jory and Nekia soil. It is herbaceous and savory with notes of black tea, hibiscus, and raspberry.

2015 Bow & Arrow Sauvignon Blanc, Le Chénaie Vineyard - This Sauvignon Blanc will remind you of that Caribbean vacation on your bucket list; it’s filled with tropical fruit notes like guava and pineapple and is so luscious you’ll practically be able to feel the sunlight on your face and the sand beneath your feet. It was grown on 17-year-old vines on Jory, Gelderman, and Ritner soil.

2016 Bow & Arrow Gamay, Walnut Ridge Vineyard - This is a round and chewy Gamay that was inspired by Gamay grown in Anjou and Saumur; it was grown in Walnut Ridge Vineyard on Bellpine Soil. The Gamay went through semi-carbonic maceration in a concrete vat and has notes of raspberries and strawberries.

2016 Bow & Arrow Rhinestones, Johan Vineyards - This blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay was inspired by red blends in Cheverny in the Loire Valley. It was grown on Johan Vineyard in Rickreall on Helvania and Santiam Soil on vines that vary between 8-16 years old. It was aged in a mixture of concrete and old barriques. It has a velvety and structured body that is filled with notes of blackberries, cherries and a touch of earthiness.
