2020 Troupis 'Ekato' Moschofilero
2020 Troupis 'Ekato' Moschofilero
Size: 750ml
Grape: Moschofilero grape, which are soaked on its skins for 100 days (Ekato means 100 in Greek)
Producer: Yiannis Troupis
Region: Peloponnese, Greece
In the cellar: Extended grape skin maceration then fermented in terra cotta spheres with lees stirring and bottled without fining or filtering with minimal sulfur
Farming method: Organic farming on clay-rocky soils
Tasting notes: Drinking this is a bit like walking through a pine forest full of wild rhubarb. It has an intense floral nose of rose petals and quince and fig, and is slightly tannic due to one hundred days of skin contact. We recommend leaning into the floral essence of this light red/rosé and enjoying it alongside a fruit platter loaded with strawberries, pomegranate, and raspberries.
