Producer: Peter Gönc is a 4th generation winemaker. Gönc winery was established in 1936 when Peter Gönc’s great grandfather built their first wine cellar and planted the vineyard in the small town of Dobrovnik in Slovenia. The name of the winery, Gönc, is the last name of the family and also a name for a Hungarian oak barrel, which contains 136 liters.

In the cellar: Žametna črnina is the oldest-known grape varietal in the world (at 375-400 years old) and it’s traditionally planted in Slovenia). Aged for 3 months on fine lees.

Tasting notes: Named after the winemaker Peter Gönc’s grandmother, Cuvée Anna is delightful with aromas of wild strawberries and syrupy peaches.
