Manchego
Manchego
Say hello to Spain’s most famous cheese! This beloved European classic is crafted in the La Mancha region, from the milk of Manchega sheep. This particular Manchego is created by La Queseria Artesana, a dairy located in Madridejos, Toledo.
The 12 month maturation period brings about a dense, hard, and slightly crunchy texture. Flavors of hay and toasted brioche balance out the gentle lactic notes of the sheep’s milk to create a delightful and delicious experience.
Manchego is an especially friendly cheese, in that it is versatile and easy to pair. Enjoy it in a sandwich with Jamón Serrano and quince paste. Nibble it alongside a glass of cider or wine. Melt it over eggs, drizzle it with honey, or slather it in jam. Whatever you do, don’t take a siesta on this fiesta!
