What: Cava! A blend of Macabeu, Xarel-lo, and Parellada
Where: Catalonia, Spain

Fun Fact: Are you stumped at how to pronounce the grape Xarel-lo? It sounds like ‘Cheryl-ooh’.
Tasting Notes: Tiny bubbles with zesty notes of grapefruit and mandarin oranges.
2014 Xabregas Mount Barker Riesling
Who: The Hogan Family
What: Riesling
Where: Western Australia, Australia
How: It spends 11 months in tank.
Farming Method: Organic
Fun Fact: 75% of wines in Australia are sealed with a screwcap instead of a cork; in New Zealand 93% of wines are sealed with screwcaps!
Tasting Notes: This is a classic example of a bone dry Riesling. Full-bodied, petrol, lemon, and floral.

2018 Weinguit Müller-Grossmann Zweigelt Rosé
Who: Helma and Marlies Müller-Grossmann
What: Zweigelt
Where: Niederösterreich, Austria
How: This was fermented in stainless steel tank.

Tasting Notes: Bright acidity with notes of fresh strawberries
2017 Chop Shop Cabernet Sauvignon
Who: Xander Oxman, Geoff McFarlene, and Brian Smith
What: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot
Where: California, United States
How: This was aged in a mixture of French and American oak.
Fun Fact: A ‘Chop Shop’ has its roots in motor theft; it’s a place that dissembles stolen cars.
Tasting Notes: Juicy and bold with notes of raspberries and cherries.
2016 Brea Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Margarita, Paso Robles
Who: Chris Brockway and Tim Elenteny
What: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot
Where: California, United States
How: Aging for 20 months in used French oak barrels
Farming Method: Organic practices
Fun Fact: Los Angeles used to be a sea of vineyards in the 19thcentury; so much so that it was nicknamed ‘City of Vines’!
Tasting Notes: Edgy and silky with whimsical cranberry, cherry, and mushroom notes.
