Dirupi is back!

“In reality, we make grapes. Wine is then created, with a lot of attention and cleanliness. We make it how we like it and for those who can enjoy it as much as we do.”

- Davide Fasolini

An Italian favorite that we always crave? Dirupi! Dirupi is the project of  Davide Fasolini and Pierpaolo di Franco who grew up together in Lombardy and since 2004 have worked tirelessly farming their high-altitude 4.5 hectares of Chiavennasca, the local name for the grape Nebbiolo. The Dirupi winery is located in a 16th century structure in the town of Ponte di Valtellina which borders Switzerland. Vineyards reach 650m (2100ft) above sea level making their vines some of the highest altitude in existence. Yields and overall production are very low at around 15,000 bottles per year, and vineyard and cellar practices are all natural, hand-crafted and certified organic.

These Nebbiolo have aromas of dried rose petals, fresh herbs and tart red berries. With a deep brick red hue, Dirupi achieves dry reds with voluptuous tannin and freshness until the very last sip.
