Free tasting | Saturday, June 30, 2018 | 4-6PM

Can you (Hang)time? Joe is visiting from Hangtime Wines, and opening a few new killer wines, as well as some old favorites (like the beloved Dirupi Nebbiolo). Come hang with us! (All wines are the real deal folks - all natural, biodynamic, organic, whatever you want to call it - the REAL DEAL - no junk added, just pure, delicious juice!)

The Line-Up!

2016 Elios Modus Bibendi Grillo (Sicily, Italy) | Now in their 4th generation of winemaking, the Adamo family are old hands at working the clay soil of Sicily. This Grillo is earth-crunchy-delightful after being aged on its lees for 8 months and is full of smoky apple and pear notes.

2017 Elios Modus Bibendi Bianco Macerato (Sicily, Italy) | Orange you glad I didn’t say banana? Take a sip of this orange wine blend of Grillo, Cataratto, and Zibibbo and you’ll be transported to the Meditteranean in the middle of fresh citrus groves. It has notes of orange pith with brushes of cinnamon and rich pie crust and has been macerated on its grape skins for 3 months.

NV Benny Dini, Lambrusco dell’Emilia (Emilia-Romagna, Italy) | Winemaker Denny Bini's natural  sparkling red is produced with several different varieties of the Lambrusco grape variety and was grown on 15-year-old vines in sedimentary clay soil. It’s fresh and full of notes of cranberries and raspberries.

2016 Domaine les Ondines, Vacqueyras Rouge (Côtes du Rhône, France) | Jérémy is an enthusiastic winemaker who decided to switch his family’s vineyard over to organic practices in 2008. His blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault has is filled with notes of spiced plums and strawberries.

2016 Lulu Bagatelle St. Chinian (Languedoc-Roussillon, France) | This 60 hectare winery is run by a brother and sister duo who reportedly fight as viciously as cats and dogs…but the Bagatelle siblings are unmotivated to hire a mediator since they think the bickering brings out the tensionand austerity in their wines. You’ll agree with them  that not all beautiful things are made harmoniously once drinking their Carignan with its earthy, silky notes of cranberry and sage.

2014 Dirupi 'Olé!' Rosso di Valtellina DOCAn Italian favorite that we always crave: DiRupi. From the brainchild of young friends, Davide Fasolini and Pierpaolo di Franco, Dirupi is named after the steepness of their 4.5 hectares of vineyards in the Valtellina bordering Switzerland. High altitude makes for some stellar Nebbiolo, which is exactly what Davide and Pierpaolo achieve. Yields and overall production are very low, and vineyard and cellar practices are 100% natural. Only one rule with this burnt-ember Nebbiolo: when you open the bottle you need to yell, “Olé!” Dancing a bit can’t hurt either.
