Dads. Love. Cheese.

Ever wondered if you’re the favorite child? A great time to cement your position is Father’s Day. How does one achieve such a feat? Getting your dad, or any dad-like figure in your life, the best present. What is the best present? Cheese, of course. Here are four cheeses we’ve decided will put you on top of the sibling pile. You’ll present it to your pops and you’ll see a gleam in his eyes that says you, my child, you are my favorite.

Let’s start with Hafod, a punchy cheddar from England. I love cheddar, you love cheddar, your dad definitely loves cheddar, and this one satisfies anyone’s cheddar itch. It is sharp and grassy and very smooth. It pairs well with burgers and beers, but the best pairing with Hafod is Hafod. So do like the Italians do, and put a big wack of it on the table and let everyone hack away for delicious cheese shards.

The next cheese for your dad should be Chällerhocker. It is a nutty, brown buttery, oniony Alpine cheese. Our cheesemonger Chris assures us, “Dads. Love. Chällerhocker.”

Ok let’s get some zip and pizzazz in there for our dads and all the dad-like people in our lives, and that means blue cheese! Jimmy, another one of our cheesemongers and a father himself, picked West West Blue because it’s awesome crumbled on steak, grilled corn, or into a salad for the dads “who are watching their waistline.”

Now I want to include my own dad’s pick because Father’s Day (hey dad, love youuuu). His current favorite is the Italian cheese, Grasso D’Alpe Boganco.  “I love the very grassy quality that it has. It’s a pretty big flavor. It would go well with the big Piedmont reds or big whites of the region.” YUM!

Be the favorite child. Bring cheese!

For the love of cheese and all the father and father figures out there,
